School of Geosciences GIST and RS

The School of Geosciences at USF is the center of Geographic Information Sciences and Technologies (GIST), Remote Sensing (RS) Technologies, Cartographic Visualization and 3D-Modeling providing education and training to a diverse group of students and faculty from across the campus creating multi-disciplinary approaches and collaborations. Our GIS and Remote Sensing Technologies Lab is a teaching and research lab that promotes and facilitates various types of geographic research, modeling and statistical analyses. Our labs are equipped with state-of-the art software, supporting software and specialized hardware to allow students and our faculty to input, analyze and display spatial data.

The School of Geosciences engages students from across the USF campus in our GS courses. This includes non-geospatial science students coming from Departments of Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Marine Biology, Political Science, Geology, Geophysics, History, and Anthropology who are introduced to geospatial science, technologies and methods.
